The Ferrari 458 Italia replaces the F430 arising from a completely new design and innovative technologies developed from the company’s experience in Formula One. The shapes and volume of each Ferrari are the result of the integration between aerodynamics and design. . In the development of the 458 Italia, the design process went hand in hand with aerodynamic development to turn technical needs into distinctive features.

The car VDA, or Vehicle Dynamic Assistance, provides technical support to the driver to assess both the state of the vehicle and its own performance. The VDA is activated when the manettino is in the RACE, CT and CST settings and provides information to drivers that allows them to assess the ideal operating conditions for the car. An algorithm evaluates the state of the car (brakes, engine, tires and engine temperature) based on dynamic parameters such as lateral and longitudinal acceleration, rpm, speed, etc. The VDA alerts the driver by displaying the following abbreviation: WARM UP when components need to get hotter; GO when the optimal conditions are reached to achieve maximum performance; OVER when there is overheating and component cooling is required.

As for the interiors of the 458 Italia, the standard seats are upholstered in full grain leather with matching stitching. The Carter mirrors the vehicle’s paint color, while the back frame is magnesium with a fixed headrest and standard manual adjustment. Electronic length, backrest, height and tilt adjustments can be ordered as an option. Another option offers the owner to electronically manage the driver’s side memory control, heating, as well as lumbar and lateral adjustments. For the most passionate drivers, the 458 Italia is available with the racing seat as an option, lighter and designed to offer better support thanks to its carbon fiber structure. The racing seat is available in three different sizes with movement and manual adjustment of the backrest angle. Standard upholstery is leather, but leather/Alcatraz trim may be available as an option.

The center console of the 458 Italia features a sculptural aluminum casting that houses the F1 gearshift panel and its dynamic controls: the start control button, reverse and the automatic switch to put the gearbox in automatic mode.

The passenger compartment has been designed for 99.5 percent of the occupants in height. The boot has a capacity of 230 liters and allows for three specifically designed bags with a total capacity of 110 litres. The rear bench can also be used to store two other bespoke bags, with a total capacity of 140 litres.
