If you talk to a single mother, she will tell you that it is difficult to manage everything in her life. Anyone who has kids fully understands how much of a full-time job it can be just dealing with kids. Add the fact that single mothers have to financially support these families, and you can see how stressful their lives can become.

Where many people differ financially and structurally is in whether or not they have completed their college education. It is a well-known fact that those who have a college degree do much better financially than those who do not. However, with single mothers, going to college may not have been an option.

Many times women were forced to deal with pregnancy and children alone. In this type of situation any type of economic income is a necessity. Therefore, going on to finish your college education may not have been the highest of priorities. Of course, the benefits of going back to school at the end of your education would be well worth it.

President Obama has stated that he wants all single, working women to go back to school to finish their education. Finally putting his money where his mouth is, the United States government has set up scholarship funds in the amount of $10,000 for women to go back and finish their education.

If you are someone who has wanted to go back to school and finish your degree, I suggest you take advantage of these programs while they are still available. Once the money is gone, the possibility of a free education will most likely disappear along with it.
