Grandpa’s advice to you, avoid poisoning your grandson. Keep your grandson safe and healthy. Do you want your grandson to be diagnosed with ADD (attention deficit disorder?) This happened to my nephew!

I see children regularly going through the same fate. In fact, I read that one in five American children is taking ADD medication. I’m sure you don’t want your grandson to become one of those statistics.

From months one to 11, parents and grandparents do everything they can to protect the baby’s health and keep it safe. So why on the first birthday of the baby, you start poisoning?

You go out and buy or make the “birthday cake” and of course you have to add the ice cream. What is cake without ice cream? I know it’s tradition, but you may not realize how dangerous these two products really are.

First of all, they are loaded with sugar. Sugar has been classified as pure poison. It has no nutritional value and wreaks havoc on the body. Juvenile type 2 diabetes is on the rise, not to mention obesity. I just saw an article where an insurance company refused to insure a four month old because he was too fat. There have also been many warnings in the news about sugar and its dangers.

Kids are getting addicted to sugar, when does it all start? I blame the big first birthday party.

They will have told you a thousand times that sugar causes cavities. However, that’s not all that the sugar is causing to rot. Read William Dufty’s book “Sugar Blues” for the facts, or simply look up the danger of sugar in your favorite search tool for studies and reports.

When it comes to ice cream, visit – notmilk.com for information that will make your hair frizzy. It has been suggested that milk could cause autism and ADD based on research by three scientists.

Ice cream is milk plus sugar (not to mention chemicals galore). Please don’t get your grandson started on this. My friend feeds her two-year-old son a bowl of ice cream regularly and then wonders why her son is always sick or has an earache. Go figure.

Additionally, sugar causes suppression of the immune system for at least five hours. Therefore, the body cannot fight the infection effectively. If your grandson is sick every time he rolls over (like my friend’s daughter), watch what he’s feeding your grandson and take note of the sugar content. Fresh fruits and vegetables do not create this problem.

What to do instead. Eat the cake and ice cream, but let the adults indulge. Create something healthy and cute for baby to enjoy and for those birthday party photos we all love to take.

Be very careful what you give your grandchild to eat and drink. Take note of what is happening right now regarding changes to what is being served in school cafeterias.
