Vandalism of property is a costly endeavor not only for the recipient of damage repairs, but also for the one who is so destructive when it lands in jail. Throwing eggs at cars can seem like a harmless prank. In fact, it is not harmless though, as it does leave stains on some car paint finishes. If there are a lot of stains, it could mean having to repaint the car. Now that harmless joke has turned into hundreds of dollars worth of damages.

There are some people who have said that the Vaseline intensive care lotion rubbed into the egg stain and left for five minutes and then removed works well. I haven’t seen this in action so it’s hard to say how valid it is.

There are two solutions you may want to try before taking it to the auto repair shop.

Method one:

Step one

Most of the time, what happens is that if the egg hits the car the wrong way, the paint comes off. So first, you need to assess the damage very carefully. If the paint is not chipped, you can try this method; otherwise you should go to method 2.

Second step

Purchase very high-grit sandpaper and soak a strip in water overnight. The paper should be saturated with water.

Step three

Very lightly sand the stained area with the sandpaper that you soaked in water overnight. Don’t apply too much pressure and be sure to keep the sandpaper damp.

Step four

Rinse the area well and pat dry. Now you need to use a rotary polisher. This should remove any marks the sanding may have left. The technique you have used here is a smooth serve that has melted a clear coat.

Step five

Now you want to remove the swirl marks and do this by applying a neat nail polish and polishing it.

If the egg stain mark doesn’t go away, you’ll need to go to step two.

Method two:

Fold an extra-strong paper towel into a square and place it over the egg stain. Then spray the paper towel with brake cleaner making sure to keep it confined to the area of the stain. Brake fluid can remove some of the paint from your car, so be sure not to get it anywhere except on the stain.

If the car is badly chipped, you will need to sand it down and then touch it up with some car paint.

Removing permanent stains from cars can be very difficult. So as not to end up having to do a complete paint job, it would be way ahead of time to take it to a paint repair shop and get it done professionally. Too often do it yourself, users end up costing themselves a great deal of money thinking they could fix a problem themselves.

Ideally, if there is vandalism in your area, it would be wise to keep your vehicle in a shelter if possible.
