Avocados are a highly nutritious fruit, which can be incredibly versatile when it comes to their culinary uses.

This article will provide you with a simple avocado paste recipe, which you can use as a main course in a meal or as a snack. I had previously read about this recipe online, and when I decided to try it myself, it was out of lemon, so I used lime instead. The results were pretty good, so now it’s something I eat on a real regular basis. So just to point out, you can swap the lime juice for lemon if you like.

I’m also going to point out some interesting benefits of avocado to try and encourage you to make this highly nutritious fruit a regular fixture in your diet.

Ready, set, cook!

Utensils you will need

First, raid the kitchen for the tools you’ll need to make this easy avocado pasta recipe.

* Cutting board

* Sharp knife

* medium saucepan

* Blender

* Strainer

* Large bowl

* wooden spoon

Ingredients for your avocado paste

I will now provide you with a list of ingredients that you will need to gather to make this easy avocado paste recipe:

* One medium-sized pitted avocado

* 2 cloves of garlic

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 1/5 cup basil

* 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

* 6 oz pasta, I like swirls but spaghetti works

* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

* 1/2 medium lime, juiced

Garlic is optional, obviously this is something that can be a deciding factor when it comes to choosing a food or not, if you are not a big fan of garlic leave it out or use it minimally.

Lets go cook

Fill your medium-sized saucepan 1/3 to 1/2 full with water and bring to a boil. When it boils, put the pasta, lowering the heat to a moderate level. It should be cooked in about 8 minutes, but try a swirl or two closer to that time.

While the pasta is cooking, you can start making the sauce.

Open the blender and add the garlic, extra virgin olive oil and lime juice. Blend until smooth, then add the avocado (which you will have already chopped into smaller pieces), the salt, and the basil as well. Blend again until the content is like a cream.

Once the pasta has boiled to your liking, remove it from the heat and drain it through the colander. Once drained, put the pasta in a large bowl and pour the sauce from the blender on top. Mix with the wooden spoon and/or stir until the sauce and pasta are completely mixed.

Sprinkle with black pepper and serve as soon as possible. This is best eaten hot or warm, and I don’t suggest reheating it.

Now is it a simple avocado paste recipe or what?

Avocado Benefits

There are many benefits that can be obtained by including avocado fruit in your diet, none more than the nutritional values it provides. There may be slightly more calories in avocado than in other popular fruits, but this difference should in no way discourage you from eating them. * Avocado is a rich source of vitamin B5, or pantothenic acid as it is also known, just 3.5 oz of raw avocado can provide 28% of all the vitamin B5 you need in a day.

* Avocado is also rich in vitamins B6, B9 (folate), and K, with a 3.5 oz serving of raw avocado providing you with 20% of the total daily requirement for each of these.
