Reuse your content. That sounds a lot harder than it really is! Once you implement a system to repurpose each of your episodes across various social media platforms, you could see a massive increase in your listening audience.

First, what does “reuse your content” mean?

In a nutshell, it means crafting a message designed to connect with potential listeners on a specific platform.

If you’re recording an audio-only podcast (which most podcasts are audio-only), you don’t have to settle for just posting your episode.

Next, how can you repurpose your content quickly and efficiently?

There are several different platforms available that you can use. Some have free options and paid upgrades. Some only offer paid plans.

One I’ve used before is called “Headliner.app”. With this platform, you can add a waveform (the wavy lines that look like audio is playing) to a video that is also playing your audio file. This waveform appears (to those watching your video on YouTube and elsewhere) as if the wavy lines are reacting to your audio.

Instead of a waveform, you can add pictures and images to the file. As a person watches your video, the images will change as the video plays.

You can also use Headliner’s cropping feature to take a snippet from the entire file and turn it into a commercial. Upload the images you’d like to emphasize and add the audio snippet. When you save and export the commercial, you can post it on social networking sites with a link to the full episode.

Headliner.app offers a free version as well as upgraded paid plans with even more features.

Repurpose.io will also provide these features and without all the manual steps! There is no free account (there is a free trial offer at the time of this article), but the fees are very reasonable. With the ability to eliminate manual steps, it’s actually quite affordable!

Repurpose.io offers the possibility to convert your podcast from audio to video, automatically publish it on YouTube and Facebook; automatically post (commercial) snippets to Twitter and LinkedIn and more.

There are many different platforms available to repurpose your audio content. You simply need to do a Google search and find them.

NOTE: Repurpose.io and Headliner.app are only mentioned as examples of the types of services that are available to help you promote your podcast. I am not affiliated with any of these companies and I am not endorsing one over another. I provide them only as examples. Do your own due diligence to decide what services you need and the price you want to pay.
