Okay, you’ve seen or heard the Secret, you’re inspired to start using the Law of Attraction, but you don’t know where to start. Or maybe you are wondering if it is too good to be true and you want to try it yourself. Here are three easy steps to start exercising your deliberate powers of creation.

Instead of reading all the books on the subject or subscribing to expensive programs, with just a few tips you can start to experience the magic of mindful creation. Get started with a practice project to not only build the muscle that manifests itself, but also to have a lot of fun.

What is a practice project? It’s a low-risk item that you choose to manifest strictly for fun. Many of those who are recently excited about the Law of Attraction want to change jobs immediately, improve their health, transform relationships, get rich, etc. But when we start with something we’ve struggled with for some time, we stymie our demonstration efforts before heading out the door.

That’s where your practice project comes in. Follow these steps to start experiencing the ease of deliberate creation:

Choose a practice project. Keep in mind something that is unique and out of the ordinary enough that you don’t see it every day, so that when you see or experience it, you will know that it is the result of its manifestation. Ideally, it will be something you look forward to or enjoy as the emotional factor helps your project come true quickly.

Projects that some of my clients have had fun with include: unusual license plates, vintage cars, specific songs, celebrities, clothing items, certain animals, cards in the mail, phone calls from old acquaintances, specific foods, flowers, etc. Again, choose something that gives you pleasure thinking about it, as pleasant emotions add power to the process.

Imagine it. Then simply imagine experiencing, seeing, tasting, touching, and / or hearing what you have chosen as a practice project. For just half a minute or so, visualize how it will feel to experience this. Imagine your surprise or delight when you see it; listen to your laugh out loud when you realize that it is only what you have been manifesting; In your mind, pretend it’s really happening

Do it a few times during the day for the next few days, whenever you think about it. Again, the stronger the emotion that you can replicate as you imagine experiencing your practice project, the better.

Be careful. Now just keep an eye on your article. Don’t worry about how it will look, that’s the job of the Universe. Also, don’t get attached to how it is displayed. Prepare to be surprised. Your job is to just relax and enjoy the idea of having this while keeping an eye on it.

If you’re feeling anxious because you don’t know how it will happen, or you’re worried it hasn’t happened yet, consciously let go of those stressful thoughts and feelings. Your article will manifest when you feel good about it. Anxiety prevents it from manifesting. (This is why practice projects work so well, because we are less likely to have anxiety about seeing our “purple blanket” than our “yearly increase” or “perfect body”).

How long will it take? After thinking about your practice project regularly and with pleasant excitement for several days, you will likely see evidence that it comes within 1 to 2 weeks. The key is to refrain from thinking thoughts like “Where is it?” or realizing that he is “not here yet.” Those thoughts are paralyzing.

Here’s what this process looked like in action for a new client:

Thomas chose a free movie ticket as his practice project. He imagined the pleasure he would feel accepting the free ticket and smiled in anticipation of the happy outcome. He had this image briefly in mind a couple of times.

That day at work a colleague offered him a ticket to a live show. It wasn’t a free ticket and it wasn’t a movie, but it got him thinking about his practice project. Later, Thomas smiled knowing that the theme of the performance was “TV and movies.” After work, she noticed a promotional display in the store offering a free movie ticket to buy ten chocolate bars. He did not buy the sweets, but he knew that the Universe had listened to his request.

In the mail the next day, Thomas’ laundry service offered a free movie pass to renew his membership. On his answering machine was an invitation from an old friend to attend the symphony; the theme of the performance was “Academy Awards”.

The next day, Thomas won free tickets on the radio to a theater awards show in Los Angeles. At dinner that night, a friend mentioned that the local grocery store was offering two free movie tickets for the purchase of ten frozen items. A few days later, another friend invited him to a free screening of an independent film. Then he heard the radio ad for free movie tickets at the grocery store; I got a 30-day pass to an online movie site; and his AMC membership sent him free movie tickets for sneak peeks.

This is an exaggerated example of how easy and fun deliberate creation can be when we allow it. So again, pick something you like, imagine it from time to time without being attached to how it will look, and keep an eye on it. Happy demonstration!
